Specialist Aviation Services
Specialist Aviation Services Group
SAS Group has its origins in two companies, Police Aviation Services and Medical Aviation Services, both set up in the UK over 30 years ago during the infancy of Emergency Services aviation.
Over this time, SAS has spearheaded the development of the industry in the UK and further afield. Today we employ over 150 staff, operating and supporting aircraft on an international basis, 24 hours a day on every day of the year.
We also continue to expand and develop our services which now include VIP Helicopter Maintenance, Offshore Operations and Night HEMS using Night Vision Goggles.
Our UK headquarters are at Gloucestershire Airport in the UK, and our continental European Support Center is based in Genk, Belgium. It is from these two locations that we support our maintenance bases and customer operations around Europe and the Middle East.
Capabilities & Approvals
Our type focus is the MD902 Explorer and the Leonardo Helicopters AW169 and SAS holds a comprehensive range of EASA and CAA approvals to operate and support them.
In addition to our AOC which covers a range of specialist operations, they also cover maintenance, design, manufacturing and flight testing. Some of these approvals also apply to a whole range of other helicopter and fixed wing aircraft types.
Whilst our core business is the fulfilment of specialist turnkey aircraft operating services, SAS also provides individual support services for other operators. Such services include aircraft sales support, conversion training, aircraft maintenance, CAMO services, interiors, painting and bespoke aircraft modifications & STC’s.
In addition to our regulatory approvals, SAS is also a member of the British Helicopter Association.
