NHS Improvement leads speaker line-up for Air Ambulance National Conference

The Association of Air Ambulances (AAA) is delighted to announce Miles Scott as the Key Note speaker at this year’s National Air Ambulance Conference, which takes place on Monday 13 November 2017 at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel, London.
Miles Scott, Improvement Director of NHS Improvement was Chief Executive of St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between 2011 and 2016. He was Chief Executive of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2005 to 2011 and prior to that, Chief Executive of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust from 2001 to 2005.
Miles is a member of the GMC Undergraduate Board, the HEFCE Healthcare Education Advisory Committee and the Centre for Workforce Intelligence Governance Board. Before taking up his appointment at St George’s, he was also Vice Chair of the Foundation Trust Network and Chair of the West Yorkshire Comprehensive Local Research Network. His NHS career has encompassed acute, community and mental health services, the Department of Health and the King’s Fund. Miles is a chartered director and has an honorary doctorate from the University of Bradford.
In addition to the popular Key Note address, experts within the key colleges of Clinical, Air Operations and Charity sector will once again take to the stage and deliver presentations on four key topics: Sharing Best Practice, Technological Advances, Performance Excellence and Under the Surface, all relating to the air ambulance and ambulance service sector.
Steven Dunmore, CEO of the Fundraising Regulator will deliver a presentation within the Performance Excellence category. Steven was appointed as Chief Executive of the Fundraising Regulator in December 2015. He was previously Chief Executive of the New Opportunities Fund and the Big Lottery Fund.
Since leaving the Big Lottery Fund in 2008, Stephen has been Interim Chief Executive of the Responsible Gambling Fund, The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, the Lumos Foundation, the National Consumer Council and the Family and Childcare Trust. He was Chair of Capacitybuilders, National Family Mediation and the BBC’s Awards Advisory Committee; and served as a member of the Office of the Third Sector’s Advisory Body. Stephen is a Trustee of The Prince’s Countryside Fund and a Council Member of the Society of Antiquaries.
Clive Dickin, National Director of the Association of Air Ambulances joined the AAA in 2012 and has over 25 years’ experience in membership third sector organisations and seven in aviation sector. As a member of the AAA Board and with its Subcommittee’s and team they deliver the vision and strategy of its members. Clive will take to the stage with a presentation titled: ‘Table Manners’. He will discuss expectations of the sector and how they are dictated by how they are perceived; not only by donors but patients, legislators and peer groups and how as a sector we must sign post best practice.
Organised by the AAA; the leading pre-hospital air ambulance conference has become a firm fixture on event calendars across the world wide air ambulance community and is open to all members and non-members. It aims to inspire, inform and incite debate, providing a platform for the air ambulance industry to come together, share ideas and build partnerships. Accompanied by a separate exhibition room, delegates will have the opportunity to network, learn, educate and build relationships with all connected to the industry together with also attending one of many workshop sessions.

The conference is followed by the prestigious Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence and Gala Dinner held during the evening.
